According to the study published in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, a group of researchers from the University of Exeter and the University of Cambridge revealed that COVID-19 can have a deeper impact on the mental health of children and young people, which can result in an increased demand for support services.

The author of the study claimed that this was the first study to examine the information on the mental health of various age groups across the globe before and during the pandemic. The findings of the study revealed that after the pandemic, broader measures of mental health deteriorated.

These deteriorated measures included an increase in overall problems with behavior, emotions, or anxiety, as well as the fact that a lot of studies reported no change, and some reported improvements in mental health.
